Auto-enrolment tools for small businesses

Interactive online tools have been released by The Pensions Regulator to help small businesses prepare for auto-enrolment.

By filling in details such as the company PAYE reference, number of employees and salary information, employers can calculate their staging date and the minimum contribution for each employee, as well as find out exactly how the process works and which staff will need to be auto-enrolled.

Although most small businesses will not be affected until 2015/2016, The Pensions Regulator emphasised the importance of understanding the implications of auto-enrolment now and taking action well in advance. It will also write to all UK employers at least twice before their staging date.
