More women saving adequately for retirement

The proportion of women saving enough for retirement has increased to 50% according to the Scottish Widows Women in Pensions Report. This is a rise from the 2010 figure of 43%.

Pensions Bill passes third reading

The Pensions Bill which covers introducing auto-enrolment from 2012 and raising the state pension age to 66 by 2020 for both men and women has passed its third reading in the House of Commons. The Bill received 287 votes to 242.
